A 4 year diagnostic odyssey prompted my involvement in health research as a public contributor. Now I am involved with multiple organisations and research teams across the UK. A few of the organisations I am involved with are  the NIHR, HDRUK, HRA and AMS doing grant review and providing insight into research and policy. In the past 2 years I was funded as part of a small team to co produce a small qualitative research project as a patient researcher and am Co I on a number of projects with different research teams.  I have presented at numerous conferences and events about patient and public involvement. I am particularly interested in Co Production and am closely involved with the Co Production Collective based at University College London. I believe that people have a right to be involved in research that affects them and uses their data.  Involvement isn't a methodology, it's a values and principles led way of working that ensures research meets everyone's needs, not just those that are perceived by researchers and professionals. No one cares more about research success than the people living with conditions, for us research is hope.
